Rooted.
Responsible.
Renewed.
Sustainability is not a programme we adopted — it's the grain running through five decades of Viera.
Where It Begins
A forest we treat
as family.
Our teak comes from the Nilambur valley — a place our family has known for four generations. We don't buy wood from a market; we walk the plantations, know the growers, and watch the same trees mature over decades.
That proximity is how sustainability becomes real. Selective felling, longer growth cycles, and replanting are not certificates on a wall — they're decisions made by the people who live there.
Every plank that leaves our floor carries a chain of custody we can trace by hand, from the tree it started as to the interior it ends up in.
Our Commitments
Six practices that shape every plank.
-
Responsible Forestry
Selective felling, longer growth cycles and replanting programmes in partnership with the Nilambur teak plantations we have worked with for generations.
-
CITES & Chain-of-Custody
Every shipment is export-compliant with verifiable documentation from source tree to finished plank — audited for legality and origin.
-
Waste-to-Warmth
Off-cuts, shavings and sawdust are reprocessed into kiln fuel, panel stock and packaging — keeping ~98% of every log in productive use.
-
Low-VOC Finishes
Polishes and sealants are water-based where possible, with VOC emissions that meet European luxury-interior standards without compromising durability.
-
Community & Craft
Fair wages, skill training and long-term employment for craftsmen in Nilambur — the people who carry this knowledge forward.
-
Built To Outlast
A Viera floor is resanded, refinished and rejuvenated — not replaced. The most sustainable floor is the one that's still beautiful in sixty years.
